Over the weekend, one of our beloved substitute teachers, Max Wilson, unexpectedly passed away. The cause is still unknown. Last Friday, I was out of town, so Mr. Wilson was actually the substitute for all of my classes that day. This means that all of our students were part of the last class he got to work with.
You may want to discuss this with your son/daughter and check-in with them about how they are doing with this news. At school we have our grade level counselors and our therapists available for any grief counseling that students may want.
If you and your family would like to express your condolences, I am happy to share cards or warm wishes with his family. Mr. Wilson's brother, Randy Wilson, is an 8th grade Language Arts and Drama teacher here at Aptos and understandably Randy Wilson needs to take this week of school off.
